I Cyntha Harlin adminstratrix de bonis non of the Estate of Levi Lazell decd do solemnly swear that the said deceased died in the County of New Madrid without a will as far as I know & believe. And that I will well & truly administer all & Singular the goods & Chattels Lands & tenements rights & credits of the said decd & pay his debts as far as his assets will extend & the law directs. And that I will make a true & perfect inventory of all the goods & Chattls & Lands & tenements rights & credits of the decd account for pay & deliver all moneys & property according to Law which shall come to my hands possession or knowledge. And further that the deceased left four children to wit: John Lazell, Susan Lazell, William Lazell, & Joseph L. Lazell all residing in the county of New Madrid So help me God

[Note: The following 1848 probate info is for William Lazell, the son of Levi and Cyntha Lazell. These papers were found in the probate of a William Lazell who died around 1829-1830…Cyntha’s agent in 1827.]

William I. R. Brooke being duly sworn by Clerk of the County Court of said County deposes and says that to the best of his knowledge and belief William Lazell deceased left no heirs of his body, but left a mother, Cyntha Brooke late Cyntha Lazell, and a sister Susan Robbins, late Susan Lazell and Joseph Lazell his brother, Cathrine Harlin his half sister, Samuel Lazell and William Lazell Nephews, and Cyntha Lazell his niece, children of his brother John Lazell deceased all of which reside in the County of New Madrid and State of Missouri, that said William Lazell died without a will, that he will make a perfect inventory of and faithfully administer all the Estate of the said William Lazell and pay the debts as far as the assets will extend and the law direct, and account for and pay all assets which shall come to his possession or knowledge
