Morehouse - James Washington CROWLEY, 39 former Morehouse resident, died in Shreveport, La. Friday from a gunshot wound. Details as to how and where the tragedy occurred were not available.
He was born Feb. 14, 1924 in Truman, Ark., but moved to Morehouse when a baby. He spent his childhood here attended the Morehouse schools.
On July 4, 1947 he married the former Miss Lela Jane HILL. He was a veteran of World War II and a decon of the First Baptist Church before he moved to Shreveport in 1961.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James CROWLEY of Morehouse: his wife and three children, Jim, Steve and Patricia; three brothers, Claude and Floyd CROWLEY of Sikeston and Ray CROWLEY of Morehouse.
The body will arrive at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse Sunday.
