MOREHOUSE - BURLEY EUGENE LEDBETTER,age 85, died Monday at Missouri Delta Community Hospital. He was born on Aug. 5, 1907 at Tupelo, Miss., the son of the late David and Fannie HORTON LEDBETTER.
He spent childhood in Tupelo, and moved to Charleston, Mo., in 1923, where he resided until 1947, when he moved to Morehouse. He was a retired farmer, and member of the PENTECOSTAL CHURCH in Morehouse. He was married to Miss Susie Bee RIDDLE, and 10 children were born to this union. One son preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, five sons, Burley Jr. of Morehouse, Samuel of East St. Louis, Ill., Billy Wayne, Jimmie Dale, and Clyde Raymond all at home; four daughters, Mrs. Mary WAGNER of east St. Louis, Ill., Mrs. Terza Lucille WAGNER of Sikeston, Mrs. Laura Louis ROBERTS of Morehouse, and Barbara Ann at home; three brothers, Jessie LEDBETTER, Clyde LEDBETTER and Rufus LEDBETTER, all of Sikeston, and seven grandchildren.
The body will lie in state at the Watkins Funeral Home in Morehouse until Wednesday, with services to be held in Pentecostal Church at 2 p.m., with the Rev. E. J. KERR officiating.
Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston.
