Betty Poole of
SIKESTON
Betty Poole, 61, formerly of California, died Dec. 12, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Jan. 11, 1935, at Manila, Ark., daughter of Robert Lee Rodgers of Matthews and the late Hettie Fretwell Rodgers, she lived in Sikeston and Southeast Missouri most of her life. She had been employed by National Lock in Sikeston, attended !:the Morehouse Assembly of God Church and was a member of Amen:can Legion Post 114 in Sikeston.
On March 4, 1949, at Piggott, Ark., she married Bobby Joe Poole I who preceded her in death on May :29,1979.
Survivors in addition to her father Robert Lee Rodgers, include: one son, Tony Lee Johnson Jr. of Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, Eldon Rodgers: of Portageville and L.G. Rodgers of Sikeston; two sisters, Della Harville and Kathryn Appleton of Sikeston; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in~ death by one son, Joe Edward Poole on SePt. 11, 1992; and one sister, Goldie Scott on May 10, 1996.
Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse with the Rev. Rick Krietemeyer of More-house officiating.
Burial will follow in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery near Puxico.
Pallbearers at services conducted Sunday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home for Betty Poole, 61, who died Dec. 12, 1996, were: Ronnie Appleton, Ronnie Appleton Jr., James Holman, Bobby. Rodgers, Pete Redding and Ronnie Gooch.
