Morehouse - Mrs. Rosetta PARIS MORGAN SIMMONS, 83, a resident of Morehouse since 1950, died at 5:20 a.m. today in the Missouri Delta Community Hospital in Sikeston. She was a daughter of the late Samuel L. and Rosanna THOMPSON MORGAN, and was born on Nov. 21, 1880 near Benton, Ky. She made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Joe Ora LACY.
She spent her childhood and school in Benton, Ky., and moved to East Prairie 50 years ago, before moving to Morehouse. She was the last charter member of the Morehouse Nazarene Church. On April 11, 1897 she was married to John HUNT, who died on Dec. 21, 1914. On June 1 1918 she was married to Samuel V. Simmons, who died March 24, 1951. Nine children were born to first union, with two preceding her in death.
Surviving are, Mrs. LACY and LeRoy HUNT, both of Morehouse, Claude and Leslie HUNT and Mrs. Walter Evelyn CHANDLER, all of St. Louis, Dahl HUNT of Denver, Ind. and Mrs. Herschel (Lucille) POWELL of Poplar Bluff; also 23 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, andthree great - great- grandchildren.
The body is at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home, with services to be held in the Morehouse Nazarene Church Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Curtis COOK of Kankakee, Ill. will officiate.
Burial will be in the Garden of Memories in Sikeston.
